FUNDING
Funding continues to be actively sought (for an industry that does not receive direct subsidy or grants) to further develop and improve the skills base. There are regional pockets of funding available. In addition, there is currently funding available for training courses and delivery of NVQs following completion of a training needs assessment for people who derive a direct income from their farm or holding. This is resourced by Progressive Poultry Training and funded by Defra and European Agricultural Guarantee Fund. Other sources of funding will continue to be resourced on both a national and regional basis.
There is also funding for National Traineeships and Modern Apprentices which are government backed training schemes aimed at young people between the ages of 16 and 24
This project is supported by Defra and European Agricultural Guarantee Fund.
