Evidence of training
As a producer, you are probably under increasing pressure to meet the requirements of farm assurance schemes. Your customers and supermarkets want completed audits and proven high levels of competance. Evidence of training is required and should undoubtedly be undertaken for legislative areas such as animal welfare, fork lifts and use of pesticides. Gaining a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) in Poultry Production will fulfil many of these requirements.

Work-based Programme
This highly respected poultry production qualification is a nationally recognised work-based programme available in Levels 2 and 3. To gain the qualification, candidates have to collect a portfolio of evidence that proves they are competent in all aspects of their choosen units. A finished portfolio contains work-based assessments, testaments and observations together with workplace evidence and certification from training courses including Lantra's quality-assured short courses.

Level 2 (technical level)
Level 2 requires competance in a significant range of varied work activities, performed in a variety of contexts. Some of the activities are complex or non-routine and there is some individual responsibility or autonomy. Collaboration with others as part of a team or work group is also required.
