A properly implemented programme of risk assessments can assist in the prevention of injuries, fatalities, property damage incidents and losses. This not only helps to prevent human loss and suffering but also assists the effective management and finance of any business. Employers and self employed have a legal duty to make suitable and sufficient assessments of the risks to the health and safety of employees, non employees and the self employed. This course is particularly useful for managers and supervisors or anyone who has a part in, or responsibility for conducting risk assessment. Trainees will acquire the knowledge and practical skills to complete risk assessments.

Principles of COSHH Enquire about this course
This course is aimed at those who use substances hazardous to health at work and gives and introduction to the hazards associated with those substances. It is ideally recommended that students already hold the CIEH Basic Health & Safety Certificate. Topics covered in this half day course include the definition and types of substances hazardous to health in the workplace and assessing and monitoring their health effects and causes. Responsibilities under the regulations, COSHH assessments, records, prevention and control options.

Emergency First Aid Enquire about this course
At the end of this 6 hour course, the trainee will be able to assess situations and carry out appropriate action including informing the emergency services; carry out artificial ventilations and chest compressions; place a casualty in the recovery position and know when to use this position; clear obstructed airways; control severe bleeding; recognise and treat for shock, deal with chemical contamination; recognise and treat head injuries; deal with burns and scalds; deal with poisons and fractures. Also an understanding of the requirements for a first aid kit and how to report accidents in the workplace.

LPG Training Enquire about this course
This course is designed for those maintenance personnel who are required to maintain poultry house LPG heaters. An understanding of the properties of LPG, the legislation, safe use and maintenance of LPG systems will be gained. The operation and positioning of regulators will be covered. Each delegate will also gain an understanding of how to service and repair installations from the 2 nd stage regulation installation to pipe work and heaters, being able to fault find and test for gas pressures. Know what to do in an emergency situation and comply with current legislation.
