Poultry litter being the medium the bird spends most of its life on, needs to be maintained in a dry and friable condition, in order to promote good welfare and health. Specific measures are looked at in detail in this half day course to enhance management practices and the bird's environment. This is especially important to the bird's welfare and economic performance of the unit.

This course gives an outline for those who need to maintain and understand their heating equipment. Giving a better understanding of the properties of LPG, along with safe use and maintenance of installed systems. Emergency actions and procedures and how regulators should be positioned and operated. Also course of actions for problem solving. Other modules for maintenance may be added on to this course specific to the particular models of equipment used.
