Training Requirements

Why Training?

Primarily to increase knowledge and competency skills in the workplace, for personal development or attainment of qualifications such as NVQ's.

"producers in all sectors are under increasing pressure to meet the requirements of agency, super-market audits and assurance schemes"

Retailers and consumers want to be assured that the food they purchase has been produced to the safest and highest quality standards and welfare through best practice. As a consequence, producers in all sectors are under increasing pressure to meet the requirements of agency, supermarket audits and assurance schemes.

Customers want producers who can meet audit requirements with proven high levels of competence. Evidence of training is a requirement and should undoubtedly be undertaken for all legislative areas such as welfare, health and safety, equipment (such as fork lifts), COSHH, chemical and pesticide use etc. In addition, continuing professional development is an essential consideration. Skills and technical know how should be continually updated to enable implementation of best available practices and techniques over all sectors and tiers of management.

How can the training requirements for Assurance Schemes and NVQ knowledge requirements be met?
